I agree with Alex...gasp.
Call me socialist or whatever you want, but i totally understand that Steinbrenner's money and the city's money are two totally different things, ALTHOUGH if you think about it, EVERY penny Steinbrenner makes off of the Yanks is because of NYC.
But besides that, what Steinbrenner is doing is ludicrous, sure he can spend his money in anyway he seems fit, it is his right, but that doesn't make what he is doing right. Considering how much he takes from the NYC, how much has he given back? And I agree...he obviously has the millions to pay for adults to play a damn game, how about donate the money to the firefighters who lost their lives. 50 million dollars split 100 ways gives each family 500,000. Of course that doesn't take you as far as before because of the investment problems the country has been doing, but just putting it into a standard account will go a long way in helping those families. Why pay Giambi 20 million dollars more over 7 years more then he would have made in Oakland, is he in need?
Rondell White? Steve Karsay?

Gasp! Gasp?
hmmmmmm.
Here's the deal. I think this topic needs to be debated in the national spotlight.
Regardless of what your position is, it should be discussed.
